[News] Beyond-G Global Innovation Center Achievements at MWC 2025

The Beyond-G Global Innovation Center at Hanyang University, led by Professor Sun-Woo Kim, participated in MWC 2025, held in Barcelona, Spain, from March 3 to 6, as part of the 6G Forum delegation. MWC is the world’s leading exhibition for the mobile and communications industry, showcasing the latest innovations in 5G and 6G networks, artificial intelligence, smart devices, and cloud technologies. MWC 2025 brought together more than 2,700 companies under the theme “Converge, Connect, Create,” highlighting how technologies converge, connect, and generate new value. Through this event, the Beyond-G Global Innovation Center achieved several key outcomes, including the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Nokia and LG Uplus to strengthen cooperation in the field of next-generation communications.

In addition, the center expanded its global collaboration network by agreeing to cooperate with Arm on artificial intelligence–related technologies and establishing an internship program with VIAVI Solutions. Through this program, students and researchers will have opportunities to participate in research and development activities at the VIAVI Marconi Labs (VML) in the United Kingdom, focusing on Integrated Communication and Sensing (ICAS), AI/ML, and digital twin technologies.

차세대통신분야 NOKIA, LG Uplus와 MOU 체결, 영국 VIAVI Marconi Lab 인턴십 유치

Beyond-G 글로벌 혁신센터(센터장 김선우교수)에서는 3월 3일~6일까지 스페인 바르셀로나에서 개최되는 MWC 2025에 6G 포럼 대표단의 일원으로 참가하였다. MWC는 모바일 및 통신 산업에 특화되어 5G⦁6G 네트워크, AI, 스마트 디바이스, 클라우드 기술 등 이동통신과 연결성을 중심으로 혁신을 가장 먼저 확인할 수 있는 산업과 기업 중심을 강조하는 행사다.

이번 MWC 2025는 2,700여개의 기업이 참가하여 Converge, Connect, Create라는 테마를 중심으로 어떻게 기술이 융합되고, 연결되며, 새로운 가치를 강조하였다. 이번 참관을 통해 한양대 Beyond-G 글로벌 혁신센터(김선우교수)는 노키아, LG유플러스와 MoU를 체결하고 차세대통신 분야에서 상호 협력하기로 하였고, 인공지능 기술 관련 ARM과의 협력과 VIAVI Solutions와는 영국의 VIAVI Marconi Labs(VML)에서 ICAS(Integrated Communication and Sensing), AI/ML, 디지털트윈기술개발에 관한 인턴십 프로그램 운영에 참여할 수 있도록 합의하는 성과를 이루었다.
