[News] Professor Sun Woo Kim Receives Ministerial Commendation at Mobile Korea 2025
Professor Sunwoo Kim of Hanyang University, currently serving as Director of the Beyond-G Global Innovation Center, was awarded the Ministerial Commendation by the Ministry of Science and ICT at Mobile Korea 2025, held from October 27 to 30 at LG Science Park.
The event convened global experts to discuss technology trends and international collaboration in next-generation networks, including 6G and satellite communications. Over 300 participants from 70 institutions across 16 countries—including the U.S., EU, Japan, and China—attended, with a total of approximately 760 participants over four days, reflecting strong international interest in the rapidly evolving network industry.
During the 6G Global 2025 session, Professor Kim presented “AI-Based Sensing and Communication for 6G Networks.” His presentation highlighted the future potential of AI-driven sensing and communication integration, emphasizing that close cooperation among industry, research institutes, and academia will serve as a key enabler for 6G innovation. The Ministerial Commendation honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of next-generation network technologies. Professor Kim’s recognition reflects his leadership in advancing 6G research and promoting collaboration across sectors to drive technological innovation.

– ‘Mobile Korea 2025’ 에서 AI기반 6G 센싱·통신 기술 발표 및 과학기술정보통신부 장관 표창 수상
과학기술정보통신부가 주최한 「모바일 코리아 2025(Mobile Korea 2025)」 행사가 10월 27일부터 30일까지 서울 LG사이언스파크에서 성황리에 개최됐다.
이번 행사는 세계 주요국 전문가들이 참여해 6G·위성통신 등 차세대 네트워크 산업의 기술 동향과 글로벌 협력 방향을 논의한 국제 행사로, 미국, EU, 일본, 중국 등 주요국을 포함한 16개국 70개 기관‧기업의 산‧학‧연 전문가 300여 명이 참여했으며, 4일간 총 760여 명이 참석하는 등 높은 관심 속에 마무리됐다.
차세대 네트워크 산업 발전에 기여한 유공자들을 대상으로 부총리 겸 과학기술정보통신부 장관 표창 시상식이 함께 열렸으며, 한양대학교 김선우 교수(현 Beyond-G 글로벌혁신센터장)가 수상의 영예를 안았다. 한양대학교 김선우 교수(현 Beyond-G 글로벌혁신센터장)는 ‘6G Global 2025’ 세션에서 ‘AI-Based Sensing and Communication for 6G Network’ 라는 주제로 발표를 진행했다. 김 교수는 인공지능(AI)을 활용한 센싱 및 통신 융합 기술의 미래 가능성을 제시하며, 산업계·연구기관·학계 간 긴밀한 협력(Key Enablers: Industry, Research Institutes, Academia)이6G 혁신의 핵심 동력이 될 것임을 강조했다.
