[News] Professor Han-Shin Jo Awarded Ministerial Commendation by the MSIT

Professor Han-shin Jo of Hanyang University received a Ministerial Commendation from the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to future radio technology research. The award was presented on December 18, 2025, at the “2025 Radio Innovation Research Presentation” held at the National Radio Research Agency (RRA) in Korea. The commendation, officially conferred in the name of the Minister of Science and ICT, highlights the externally recognized achievements of advanced research on future radio technologies and next-generation communications led by the Beyond-G Global Innovation Center.

At the presentation, Professor Jo  delivered a presentation titled “A Study on Frequency Interference Analysis between IMT and Incumbent Services in Candidate 6G Frequency Bands.” His work was highly evaluated for its contributions to future radio technology research as well as to ITU-R international standardization activities related to 5G and 6G mobile communication frequency allocation. The Beyond-G Global Innovation Center will continue to conduct research on future radio technologies and core 6G technologies, with the goal of contributing to national spectrum policy development, international standardization, and the advancement of the telecommunications industry.

[센터소식] 조한신 교수, 과기정통부 장관 표창 수상

조한신 교수(한양대학교)가 지난 2025년 12월 18일, 국립전파연구원에서 개최된 「2025년 전파혁신 연구발표회」에서 연구 성과를 발표하고, 미래 전파기술 연구에 기여한 공로를 인정 받아 과학기술정보통신부 장관 표창을 수상하였다. 이번 표창은 과학기술정보통신부 장관 명의로 전달되었으며, Beyond-G 글로벌 혁신센터가 추진해 온 미래 전파기술 및 차세대 통신 연구의 성과를 대외적으로 인정받았다는 점에서 의미가 크다. 이번 연구발표회에서 조한신 교수는 「6G 후보 주파수 대역에서 IMT와 기존 업무 간 주파수 간섭분석 연구」를 주제로 발표를 진행하였으며, 미래 전파기술 연구 및 5G/6G 이동통신 주파수 관련 ITU-R 국제표준화에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 장관 표창을 받았다.

Beyond-G 글로벌 혁신센터는 앞으로도 미래 전파기술 및 6G 핵심 기술 연구를 지속적으로 수행하며, 국가 전파 정책과 국제표준 및 산업 발전에 기여해 나갈 계획이다.
