[MOU News]  Beyond-G Global Innovation Center Signs MOU with 6G Forum for Next-Generation Communication Research

On January 23, 2026, Hanyang University’s Beyond-G Global Innovation Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the 6G Forum to collaborate on research and demonstration in next-generation communication technologies. The partnership will focus on key areas such as 6G, ISAC (Integrated Sensing and Communication), AI-RAN, and quantum communications, aiming to strengthen Korea’s information and communications (ICT) industry by advancing research, testing new technologies, and supporting commercialization. The signing ceremony was held at the Fusion Tech Center on Hanyang University’s Seoul Campus and was attended by KyungHi Chang, Executive Committee of the 6G Forum, and Sunwoo Kim, Director of the Beyond-G Global Innovation Center.

Under the MOU, the two organizations plan to carry out a range of collaborative activities, including:

▲ Identifying joint research projects in next-generation communications ▲ Sharing R&D and demonstration/verification infrastructure ▲Cooperating on technology commercialization and dissemination ▲ Training professionals based on industry needs • Developing and operating joint educational programs ▲ Organizing domestic and international collaborative events

Sunwoo Kim (Director of the Beyond-G Global Innovation Center) said, “The Beyond-G Global Innovation Center focuses on turning innovative communication technologies into real-world applications. This partnership with the 6G Forum will allow us to expand research verification, technology demonstration, and talent development, strengthening Korea’s next-generation communication ecosystem.”

KyungHi Chang (Executive Committee of the 6G Forum) added, “ISAC, AI-RAN, and quantum communications are key technologies for the 6G era. This MoU connects university research and talent with industry needs, providing a foundation for practical testing, technology dissemination, and workforce development.”

[MOU 소식] 한양대 Beyond-G 글로벌 혁신센터, 6G 포럼과 업무협약 체결

한양대학교 Beyond-G 글로벌 혁신센터(센터장 김선우 교수)는 지난 1월 23일, 6G 포럼과 차세대 통신 핵심기술 분야의 공동 연구개발 및 실증 협력을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 한양대 서울캠퍼스 퓨전테크센터 내 Beyond-G 글로벌 혁신센터에서 열린 협약식에는 김선우 Beyond-G 글로벌 혁신센터장과 6G 포럼 장경희 집행위원장을 비롯한 양 기관의 주요 관계자들이 참석하여 상호 협력 방안을 논의했다.

이번 업무협약은 6G, ISAC(Integrated Sensing and Communication), AI-RAN, 양자통신 등 차세대 통신 핵심기술을 중심으로 산학연 협력 체계를 구축하고, 연구 성과의 실증 및 산업 확산을 통해 국내 정보통신 산업의 글로벌 경쟁력을 강화하는 것을 목표로 진행됐다.

양 기관은 ▲차세대 통신 분야 공동 연구과제 발굴 ▲연구개발 및 실증·검증 인프라 공동 활용 ▲기술 사업화 및 확산 협력 ▲산업 수요 기반 전문 인력 양성 등 다각적인 협력 활동을 본격화할 예정이다. 특히 대학의 우수한 연구 역량과 산업계의 수요를 연결하여 실효성 있는 통신 생태계를 조성하는 데 주력할 계획이다.

김선우 센터장은 “이번 협약은 Beyond-G 센터가 개발 중인 혁신 기술들의 산업 적용 가능성을 높이는 중요한 계기가 될 것”이라며, “6G 포럼과 연계한 연구 성과 검증과 실증 기반 확산을 통해 전문 인력을 양성하고, 한양대가 국내외 차세대 통신 분야를 선도하는 핵심 연구 거점으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

장경희 6G 포럼 집행위원장은 “ISAC, AI-RAN, 양자통신은 6G 시대를 이끄는 핵심기술로, 기술 경쟁력 확보를 위해 산업계 수요를 반영한 산학연 협력과 전문 인력 양성이 더욱 중요해지고 있다”며, “이번 협약은 대학의 우수한 연구 역량과 인재가 산업 현장의 요구와 연결되어 실증과 확산으로 이어질 수 있는 협력 기반을 마련했다는 점에서 의미가 크다”고 평가했다.
